Ministry Team to South Africa, June/July 2025
A team from Pennsylvania traveled to Shigamani, South Africa, for a mission trip. During the week, they led a Vacation Bible School for the children with songs, Bible stories, and games. At the end of the trip, they helped stock the shelves and joined the opening of the new supermarket. They also took time to see local wildlife and enjoy the natural surroundings. The trip was a meaningful time of service, learning, and connection.
Shigamani Supermarket Now Open
The Empower Shigamani Supermarket is officially open, marking a powerful new chapter for the village! In a place where grocery options were once scarce and limited, this initiative—alongside the bakery and butchery—is transforming the local economy and daily life. With 14 new jobs created, a variety of essential goods, and a focus on dignity-driven service, we’re witnessing the vision come to life. Thank you to every supporter, friend, and team member—you are part of a movement that’s impacting more lives than you can imagine.
Update on Our Bakery and Supermarket in Shigamani, South Africa
Our bakery has grown so fast it's about to run 24/7! Now, with wholesale orders coming from neighboring villages, we urgently need a delivery vehicle. Right next door, our fully equipped supermarket is ready to open its doors — we just need to stock it. In my upcoming trip to South Africa, I aim to make both happen. Check out the investments opportunities.

Security and… Fresh Bread!
Launching businesses in Shigamani, South Africa, has revealed the true cost of security. What began with bars and fences soon escalated to reinforced doors, security shutters, and nightly patrols—totaling over $10,000 beyond our budget. Yet, through these challenges, something remarkable is unfolding: opportunity. Once overlooked, local residents are now employed, learning, and thriving. Fresh bread is baked daily, the butchery is running, and a grocery store is soon to open. Security was essential—but the real impact is the restoration of dignity and hope.
