Empower Shigamani Recap & 2026 Opportunities
This has been a year of progress and transformation in Shigamani, South Africa. Henry has traveled to the village almost on a monthly basis to oversee the many initiatives happening there. We also had teams join us to teach and carry out construction projects.
Every visit reminds us why we started this journey—to empower the local people to reach their full potential and to create opportunities that bring lasting change.
2025 Milestones
Dunamis Connections celebrated some of the biggest milestones since we began working in the village in 2012:
The Bakery was inaugurated and has expanded beyond expectations.
What started as a small local operation is now producing around 900 loaves of bread per day, serving eight villages. Locals previously had to walk 30–40 minutes to access fresh bread.
The Supermarket is officially operating.
It was opened in July, offering a variety of items and services that meet the community’s needs while also providing a better environment and excellent customer service.

Together, the bakery and supermarket provide jobs, training, and dignity for over twenty employees.
People who once had no work are now building stable futures for their families. Seeing them grow and proudly serve their community has been one of the greatest rewards of my life.
Local leadership is established.
Our efforts have focused on both the entrepreneurial and spiritual sides of the project. This year, we have developed a solid leadership team for both the businesses and the church that we can trust. They continue to be equipped to build confidence in their ability to lead.
All of this is only possible because of faithful partners like you who pray, give, and believe with us.
The Road Ahead – Our Immediate Needs
Moving into 2026, there are some urgent needs that will allow this transformation to continue:
Building Plans:
Our project has acquired land in the village where we plan to build the Dunamis House, Training Center & Lodge, bakery expansion, and future butchery.
A Pick-Up Truck: $12,000
The bakery’s sales are growing fast, and an additional vehicle is needed to reach more villages and deliver bread early each morning. We want to purchase a good used truck, which will allow us to increase our delivery routes, helping even more families access daily bread and creating more jobs.
Wall Around the New Property: $8,500
A wall will protect the property, all the equipment, and its future buildings.
Storage and Apartment for the Caretaker: $6,000
Space to ensure that the property and its operations are well cared for and safe.
Construction of the Dunamis House: $45,000
This will replace the house we currently rent, which is 30 minutes away. The new base inside the village will save daily travel time, give teams more opportunities for meaningful connection, and allow us to disciple and serve the community more effectively. It will also serve as a lodge to house people for training sessions.
As you are considering your year-end giving, I want to invite you to invest in these projects. Your donation will make a real and lasting difference in our efforts to build stronger, more self-sufficient communities. In 2026, we will be reaching beyond Shigamani into neighboring villages. Together, we will continue to empower South Africa’s future, one family at a time.
Thank you for walking this journey with us, for believing in this vision, and for investing in building something that will outlast all of us.
